Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-21
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website learnchineseinkunming.com (the "Site"), operated by Kunming College of Eastern Language ("KCEL", "we", "us"). By using the Site or submitting our application form, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About these Terms
These Terms cover your use of the Site, including reading our content and submitting the application form. The terms of any specific course or enrollment with KCEL are governed by a separate agreement between you and KCEL once you enroll.
2. Use of the Site
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. In particular, you agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Site;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or any data not intended for you;
- Interfere with the Site's normal operation, for example by sending automated traffic, scraping at high volume, or attempting denial-of-service attacks;
- Use the Site or its content in a way that infringes our or anyone else's intellectual property or other rights;
- Use the Site to send spam, harass other people, or distribute malware.
3. Accuracy of information
We try to keep information on the Site — including programs, prices, schedules, visa guidance, and blog content — accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is free of errors or that it reflects current policies in every detail. Program details and prices may change. The binding details of your enrollment are those confirmed by KCEL in writing (for example, in your invoice or Admission Letter), not those on the public Site.
Visa information on the Site is provided as a general aid. We are not a government authority. The authoritative source for X2 student visa requirements is the Chinese embassy or consulate handling your application.
4. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise indicated, the text, images, logos, and design on the Site are owned by or licensed to KCEL. You may view and share the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, or use our content commercially without our written permission. The "KCEL" name and our logo are our marks.
Some content includes third-party material (such as photographs, fonts, or schema templates) used under license; their respective owners retain their rights.
5. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites for your convenience (for example, payment providers or external articles). We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. Following such a link is at your own risk.
6. Applications and inquiries
Submitting the application form does not by itself create a contract or guarantee admission. We review applications and respond by email, typically within 24 hours. Enrollment is confirmed only after we accept your application, you pay the applicable fees, and (where relevant) you receive an Admission Letter.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, KCEL disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the extent permitted by law, KCEL is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law, including for fraud or for the bodily injury or death of any person caused by negligence.
8. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms by reference.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that grants you mandatory consumer protections, nothing in this clause overrides those rights.
